Is it appropriate to wear dress sandals to an interview?

I'm interviewing for an administrative assistant position. The weather is very hot where I live? I only have boots so I was wondering if, I should buy dress sandals or pumps. Thank You!

Is it appropriate to wear dress sandals to an interview?
I say buy a nice pair of black pumps for a polished look. You're presenting yourself to a future employer and they're going to want to see you put together. Some places may allow you to wear sandals for work attire, but that of course will vary from company to company. When it comes to looking business professional, nothing does it like a pair of pumps. Good luck!
Reply:I think you should dress professionally but then get something your comfortable in and something that doesn't make you sweat like a pig and if it's a guy who has to interview you something that doesn't make you look desperate to get the job. so i think you should get the pumps to go with a nice breezy suit that doesn't make you look desperate :) hope this helps you!!
Reply:Its is better to wear pumps for the interview. You can wear sandals after you start working in an office but not for the interview. Try to be conservative in your dress style.
Reply:No never wear open toe anything. Wear pumps! not too high though stick to the standard 2 inch or lower.
Reply:Sandals are never appropriate for work.
Reply:As a manager, I get to interview potential candidates all the time.

I can promise you the last thing I am worried about is people's sandals.

A guy can wear a suit to an interview sitting next to a guy with a sport coat, T shirt, and jeans. If the guy with the jeans seems to be a better fit for the company, then he's in.

Personally, I like people that take chances. "Yes sir" people are not my cup of tea. I won't hire someone because they didn't wear pantyhose, just like I won't like someone because they wore pantyhose.

Go for the dress sandals. No pantyhose with them. Pair it with a nice suit and you're fine. The MOST important part of the interview is CONFIDENCE. Show them why you will be a wonderful fit for the company.

If a company worries more about seeing toes than about your qualifications, the job wasn't worth having in the first place.
Reply:Well good luck on the interview. But for me, i think that applying for a job involves the use of proper office attire from head to foot.
Reply:Personaly I would go with pumps, dress sandels seem a bit to casual and will make it seem like you arent serious about getting the job, or wear sandels there and change into boots just before you go in for the interview, that was it wont be to hot. But still I say go fo the pumps unless the sandels are pretty smart.
Reply:Depends on the corporate culture of the company you're interviewing with. And how hot is hot if you only have boots?

To play it safe, I'd stick with " office job interview garb" and wear pumps. Time enough to suss out how casual or formal their dress code is once you've landed the position.

Good luck.
