How can I make it so my ankle wrap sandals stop unwrapping while just walking around?

I just bought these adorable thong sandals that have a ribbon that ties up around my ankle and calf. I've worn them a couple times and love them...EXCEPT...the ribbon/ankle ties eventually loosens and comes undone. So throughout the day I have to keep tying them...again and again.

Does anyone reading this have ankle wrap sandals and have similar problems? Is there a trick to keeping them from becoming unwrapped?

Make a double bow or double knot and they should stay tied up.
Reply:yea i know exactly what your talking about i have sum and there heka cute but u really cant make them stay up but my trick is double sided tape put one side on the ribbon one on your leg and it stays up!
Reply:May I suggest wrapping them tighter? preferably avoiding your legs turning blue. If this doesn't work maybe sitting still would help as the action of walking about would not loosen the ribbon.

If you must move then maybe the addition of some sort of adhesive may help passably supper glue. or maybe a couple of stitches into your ankles? But I'm just being stupid, I seriously would try some sort of gel or something that might induce grip, or failing that get some new shoes lol.
Reply:tie a double knot... take the bows and tie them in a single knot
Reply:Oh my ...I had those back in the 80's and they drove me nuts! The way we made them stay up was (ugh, I can't belive I wore this) we wrapped the strings OVER our pants!

Another thing I did was use a tiny safetypin to hold the bow closed - they stayed tied but would still fall down. One pair I had stayed up and tied if I got the laces wet first. Problem with that is the laces dry all creased up from tying them and they don't look good after a while. Using the tiny rubber bands (the kind from the orthodontist) over the bow also keeps it from coming undone - and they're almost invisible.
Reply:if you own slingbacks like i do then a good trick is too place a piece of scotch tape on inside of the strap this helps them stay in place around your ankles
Reply:Spary hairspray on them after you tie them.
Reply:how about stitching a little bit of velcro on each end of the ribbon so that they will stay 'stuck' together? it may help. good luck!
