Feet Smell worse when I wear sandals!!!!?

My feet smell bad enough when I wear shoes and socks, but when I wear sandals they smell worse!! I thought they would smell better because they are exposed to air. Why is This? Does anybody else have this problem?

Feet Smell worse when I wear sandals!!!!?
well chances are your not wearing socks with your sandles..

the socks are absorbing the mosture...

the leather of the sandle is absorbing the sweat..and wet leather stinks to high heaven..

you might try spraying some antipersperant on the bottoms of your feet
Reply:Because your feet are actually sweating next to the sandal bottom. Try some atheletes foot spray ....even if you are not having the actual rash it will help with the odor. Sweat harbors fungus which causes odors. Also wash the sandals frequently if they can be washed; if not trash em and get new ones.
Reply:Well, I don't have that problem, but if they are leather sandals or cloth, that might be one reason. Try some flip flops, maybe some with a straw-like bottom. If that doesn't work, try some anti-fungal creme from your drugstore. And/or the spray. If that doesn't help, then see a doctor.
Reply:Are they rubber sandals?
Reply:i don't have the problem, but it seems to me that there's a fungus of some kind to contend with... although it could just be that your feet smell worse because you aren't containing the odor within the confines of your shoes.
Reply:leather rubber and cloth sandals soak in your sweat because you are not wearing socks.
Reply:i'm not sure, but i have the same problem too. get a pumice stonre to use on your feet ion the shower to get the dead skin off your toes, ball of foot, and heel... that way the bacteria doesn't swarm in your dead skin and you'll have less stinky feet.
Reply:Yes,I know. You need to put socks on your feets. Then will be ok.You have problem with the skin and you need a doctor for it for skin deseas.
Reply:no but you should wash your feet in some specially medicated soap for smelly feet i believe :D and some foot odour elimanating spray works on shoes :)
Reply:Certain types of materials react different with our body. I have a pair that is made of foam and my feet are fine but also I have a pair that is made of a cloggy wood, whooo, I hate the smell after a few hours of wearing them.

Our feet sweat alot! 250000 sweat glands just on our feet! The sweat causes bacteria, mold and a foul odor and it gets inside your shoes. You may want to get new sandals or try washing them. A good way to debacterialize your sandals is to get tea tree oil and mix a few drops into a spray bottle with water and spray your sandles once a week to kill the germs. this will also keep it smelling good.

You can use this on your feet too to kill germs and athlete's foot. Cleaning them in the shower with a stone will also get off the dead skin cells. Don't use powder as it will harvest bacterial and mold.
