What nice vaction spots (beach, sandals resort) do you NOT need a passport for??

The sandals resorts are:

St. Lucia

Jamaica

Bahamas

Antigua

Do you need a passport for all of these?

Are there any other romantic vaction spots for a younger couple where you do NOT need a passport?

But...the thing is I am asking this question way in advance (long story) I may not be able to go untill 2011.

But that may change.

So any help or personal experience stories will be helpful, thanks!

All of your choices require a passport. So does Mexico.

You would not need a passport for any US territory, such as Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Or, of course, you could go to Hawaii (my personal favorite!).

But if you do decide on the Caribbean (outside of US territories), go ahead and get a passport. It only takes a month to 6 weeks generally (the long backup in the passport office is over; they are back on a normal schedule).

A new passport costs about $100, but it is good for 10 years - and you'll need it to go ANYWHERE outside of the US, including a cruise. (Even Canada requires one for air travel, and it will soon be required for car travel, too). If you are considering the Caribbean now, it's pretty likely you will want to go to one of these destinations sometime in the next 10 years - go ahead and get the passport, then you'll have the freedom to go almost anywhere.
Reply:I don't know of any place that doesn't require a passport... I'm pretty sure all four of those locations require one.
Reply:all i know is that i'm jamacian so i know that jamacia is great except that most places there don't have direct TV so it only has 4 channels( i dont remember wat they wer tho).
Reply:Since none of the four places you mentioned are United States territory, you will need a passport.

Why not get one? Any citizen can get one, and it doesn't take that long. The person above said ten months, but that seems wrong to me.
Reply:I can confirm that Margaritaville does not require a passport.
Reply:well if you were born in the u.s.a. then you can travel anywhere without your passport and you can travel to Puerto Rico but for the bahamas you need a passport and for jamaica and antigua.
Reply:maybe find a different resort in puerto rico? no passport for US citizens. but if you have to wait that long for the trip, why not just get a passport? it'll take like 10 months to do so, so get started. a few mins to fill in papers, months to get approved/recieve passport. no clue what costs there are...
