I'm thinking about wearing sandals to the airport and on the flight. Is that a good idea?

I'm flying this Friday in Florida, so it'll be nice and warm. I'm thinking about wearing sandals because they'll be easier to take off for security and stuff like that. Is this a good idea?

The above answers may be correct, but you should check with your airline to be sure. I've heard that you must wear shoes for safety reasons so please check before you leave. Bon Voyage!!
Reply:I think you have to wear shoes in case there is an emergency. Check with your airline as Bob suggested.
Reply:sandals would be easier to take off during security, but in the airplane in the air, it might get cold. i often find my feet to get freezing up in the air.
Reply:I have flown with sandals on with Delta, United and Frontier since end of July without a problem. They are actually easier to take off while going through security.
Reply:If you're comfortable in them sure why not ... and yes the weathers great this week it's been in the low 80's in central FL ... have a great time!
Reply:what?? you think you have to wear shoe if you're on-board?? its not true man, only if you are F/A then you've to wear shoe on-board.. i've seen people wear sandals, flip-flop and so on.. but for sure, shoes a lot.. the thing is if you're comfortable using sandals, then wear it!! no body gonna asked you to change..
Reply:It's a great idea. It will make it less of a hassle going through security. Have fun.
Reply:My feet get cold on airplanes so I always wear shoes with socks, even in summer.
