How many people wear socks with sandals??

Why? Is there a reason you do?

The whole purpose of sandals is to be as barefoot as possible.....

How many people wear socks with sandals??
I think it looks bad too, but I can understand people that do it in cold weather. Closed shoes are an absolute horror on the feet; socks in sandals allow the foot to breathe better than closed shoes can, even those that claim to be 'well-ventilated'. But I don't know why people do it in summer, wearing thin socks with their sandals. I'd never say they shouldn't be doing that if they like it -freedom of dress over fashion any day- but I agree with you that I don't see the point.

Reply:A major fashion mistake. When ever I see an old guy with shorts, black socks to his knees and sandals I tell my girlfriend just to shoot me if I ever look like that - It means I've lost my will to live.
Reply:yeah, I'm a guy and have nice feet, so for me sandals and socks shall never, ever, ever, ever meet.......I'd rather go barefoot..I think people who wear socks with sandals want to feel cool in the heat but their feet are too ugly and they are embarrassed.

And how do you get flip flops on with socks? I tried that, it's extrememly uncomfortable, and if you do toe sock with flip flops, AH the tackiness!

Reply:I never though I would but yes, I live in a hot place, suddenly yesterday began a cold wave, I wore dress shoes the hole day and my feet got wet.


At night I put my sandals on and my feet rested. I had to leave and felt a cold air just opening my door, so I came back and put my socks on. As my shoes were still wet I had to wear sandals with socks.





I can't believe it, but It feels so good, my feet were dry and warm. I think it is a good option if it isn't a big deal your look
Reply:No I could not stand to wear socks with a sandals. I agree you are meant to be barefoot in them. People who do not like have bare feet wear flip flops/sandals so they can still have partially bare feet.
Reply:I never wear socks with sandals now, I personally think it's tacky. However, when I was younger--around 3 or 4--I used to wear socks with flip flops just to be silly.
