In what certain occasions is it wrong to wear sandals?
When is the right and wrong time to wear sandals?
For women, there really isn't a limit to when to wear sandals. It's just the style of the sandal which determines suitability for the occasion. It used to be the rule to only wear sandals between Memorial Day and Labor Day; however, this isn't the case any longer.
For men, however, an open shoe like a sandal is considered very informal wear as men's sandals are not dressy at all. Also, men's feet are generally not thought to be "cute".
Men should not wear sandals with a suit, for example, or at work unless their company's "casual day" dress code specifically allows them. Dressy, solemn or formal occasions like weddings and funerals are not appropriate times for men to wear sandals.
Outdoor casual parties, the beach, shopping, casual outings and around the home are ok for men to wear sandals.

I reside in the San Antonio area and I am looking for any mexican places, markets, or stores where they might sell huaraches (mexican sandals).

They have all kinds of shops that sell stuff like that.

Why wont Birkenstock's let diabetic people wear there sandals?
I'm diabetic and they told "if I was diabetic I was not suppose to wear sandals @ all" I lied and said " not me". I love there sandals. Isn't this like profiliing or something close to that. What is your opinion on this matter?

Its just to cover themselves, being diabetic, you know you have your feet checked annually, if something was wrong with your fee, you might want to blame the makers of the sandals, they are just covering themselves,
There are numerous other things that say not for use by diabetics, foot spas say it.
Don't worry about it, you know whether your ok or not, if you do have problems with your feet, your doctor will advise you on the type of foot wear to wear.

Reply:As a diabetic you really have to take special care of your feet. The soles of their sandals are cork and are prone to breaking, and splintering. If the cork sole were to break and send a sliver of that cork into your foot, you could have a very hard time ever getting your foot back to normal. My father in law was diabetic, wore Birkenstocks and ended up with two black toes because the sole splintered off into his skin. They got infected, he got a nasty infection from his toes to his knee. Just find another sandal to wear, they tell you that for a reason. I would hope your health comes before footwear.

I know pumps and sandals can be open-toe or closed-toe with or without straps. However, I often seen open-toe high heels with a closed back being labeled as sandals instead of as pumps; and I sometimes see open-toe high heels with a open-back being labeled as pumps and not as sandals.

Has anyone ever been on a sandals resort? If so which one and how did you like it?

I was at Sandals Negril, Jamaica over the holidays. We loved it as usual. The resort is right on the most beautiful beach. The sunsets are priceless. There are lots of things to do right there, watersking, scuba diving (hubby loves it), sail,etc....... Some of the evening entertainment is good, some so so, but, that's just fine with us. A nice quiet evening is what we like.
The food was really good. Buffet if your really hungry, restaurants if you want to "dine". All drinks are included. The landscaping crew will tell you about any of the flowers or trees in the beautiful garden. The staff is very friendly. I did mention that you eat, drink, and play all day! Sometimes though, I wish that the "guests" would get over themselves when they bark orders and complain about everything. Please and thank-you go a long way. Most are very relaxed and happy.

I know it can be really hard to break out of our fashion comfort zones, but trust me, the joy you will feel in doing something you've really been wanting to do will not only give you a delightful feeling of freedom, but your joy in it will make others think, "I like that guy's style!"
I know how you feel because I was in a similar situation for a long time. I'd been wanting a pair of red sandals forever, but because of my limited budget I thought, "Well, if I'm buying a pair of shoes I should get black or brown. It will go with more and I can wear them for a long time." But every time I wore the black or brown shoes, I wished they were red. Finally I broke down a bought a pair of red sandals, and I wear them with everything and I feel so much self-confidence and joy just because I'm doing what I wanted to do and not worrying about what other people think. You know the saying--it's the little things in life (for example, sandals with jeans, red shoes) that make it special!

For white flip flops Ajax works great to remove the dark stains, but if it is not white I would recommend using baking soda. Baking soda not only cleans stains but also deodarizes shoes.

i plan to elope for my 2nd marriage to wed in St. Lucia and havent made any plans yet. This is my last wedding and Im ready to move on with my new love that's been my friend since we were teenagers. I hear alot of wonderful things about Sandals Resorts and wondered if anyone actually has been to or were wed at St. Lucia and how it all worked out. No but was Married at Sandals Dunns River in Jamacia and it was awesome, i have been doing research on St. Lucia and have heard mixed reviews. here is a great site www.tripadvisor.com tons of reviews and pitcures from people who have been there not just the pitcures the resorts want you to see. plus they have question and answer forum so some one can really help you. go luck and congrats. you won't go wrong with sandals.

Reply:We stayed at the golf and spa, while it's a great place, spend the extra cash and Stay at the Grand. However, go to the French Resturant at the Golf and Spa. Golf is Free, but you pay for a caddy, the spa is not free, so be mindfull of the all inclusive tag line. We had a great time and Sandals has plenty for you to do, but seriously spend the extra loot and stay at the Grand, my wife and I wished we stayed there.

No but was Married at Sandals Dunns River in Jamacia and it was awesome, i have been doing research on St. Lucia and have heard mixed reviews. here is a great site www.tripadvisor.com tons of reviews and pitcures from people who have been there not just the pitcures the resorts want you to see. plus they have question and answer forum so some one can really help you. go luck and congrats. you won't go wrong with sandals.

Reply:We stayed at the golf and spa, while it's a great place, spend the extra cash and Stay at the Grand. However, go to the French Resturant at the Golf and Spa. Golf is Free, but you pay for a caddy, the spa is not free, so be mindfull of the all inclusive tag line. We had a great time and Sandals has plenty for you to do, but seriously spend the extra loot and stay at the Grand, my wife and I wished we stayed there.

Anybody own a pair of slide sandals?
I'm a male and I want to get a pair of slides. But they don't have a back-strap, so I'm afraid that they will just fly off my feet when I walk in them. I wear back-strap sandals, so I don't know what slides will be like. Do they fly off easy or what?

If you don't have these stores near you I'm sure you can get the sandals at their websites. I always have the problem you're having with winter slippers! My daughter's foot size seems to change halfway through the season!

DO NOT leave the resort under any circumstances. My brother and sister-in-law went to Sandals in Jamaica for their honeymoon and had a blast, but they made the mistake of wandering out of the resort and it wasn't safe. Just a tip! ;) They said Sandals was just spectacular though. Happy planning!

Sandals are running all kinds of deals right now, Go to there web site, www.sandals.com and get the phone number, we looked at there web site and said no way, and then called them $800 dollars diffrence and included airfair, spirit airlines just sent me a email on buy-one get the second free, and also had a special on one of the sandals resorts, were you then have exchange rights to other sandal resorts. But if this is still to expensive then try the RUI resorts or superclubs, if you go to jamacia it will be your best bet as this is the cheapist place tom stay in the caribbean. Also try St. Lucia for next year (march,april) 2007 for Sandals Im not sure which one, but they had great GREAT GREAT deals going right now, no airfair included. good luck, also try www.tripadvisor.com tons of reviews,pitcures,and Q/A forums

If this is not an option, my suggestion is to rent a villa with a kitchenette for a few days. They are competitvely priced and you make your own breakfast, pack a lunch and then splurge on supper. Places like Ocho Rios and Montego Bay have tons of villas.
We stayed at a villa in Ochie, steps from the beach, pool and restaurant. I am the Queen of cheap so I know it can be done...contact me if you need more help.

Reply:well you could try taking them to the shoe repair store, they do have equipment to stretch shoes, i do not know the correct name of the equipment as i have seen them in the shoe repair store.
Reply:Soak your feet with them on in some warm water or use some kneetsfoot oil(sp?) on them. Then wear them for a few hours. They will stretch a LOT.

You can wear them with longer pants or with shorter capris/shorts (depending how fancy the shoes are). I am all about wedges and skirts. Get a cute denim skirt and a white shirt/blouse. Then throw on some bright jewelry (like pink or red or green) and you will be SO cute.
OR you could do white wedges and white pants/khaki pants and a bright top with white jewelry (like big chunky beads) and maybe a cute white headband/scarf.
Wow...I think I've successfully convinced myself to go buy white wedges...haha...

those are my sandals lol. ive worn them few times (i got them near the end of summer actually, theyre still in new condition). when i first saw them they loooked a bit odd, but they got my attention. then i kept looking around at other shoes and i kept looking at these. then i realized i wanted them lol. i couldnt leave without them.

My husband and I are going with another couple to Sandals Montego Bay. As far as clothing goes what do you recomend we pack? How nice of clothes do you need for dinner and the evening activities?

Enjoy . If you are planning to go to the restuarant off the island(resort causal)
Resort wear appropriate for men and women are "country club" type clothing. Since the invitation is for dinner, then evening resort attire for men would be nice slacks, polo shirts, button down shirts, nice shoes or sandals, with the option of wearing a sport coat. For women: nice pants, skorts, skirts, nice top, casual dress, sundress, nice sandals or casual shoes. The length of the skirt or dress is knee length or longer.
Get ready for a once-in-a-lifetime dining experience that begins with a sea voyage (a very short one) from the mainland to our offshore island, where you'll take your seats at our dramatic restaurant that serves up succulent Thai dishes for your culinary pleasure. Oh, also take a comfortable tennis shoes with you, in case you want to go on excursion.

How to get leg-straps on sandals to stay up?
HI I recently bought some SANDALS that are the type that lace up your leg like a BALLERINA or someone from ANCIENT ROME. I can not get the straps to stay up though! They stay up for like FIVE MINUTES and then fall down again. And I do tie them REALLY TIGHT but they still fall down. I can't use double sided tape because the straps are REALLY THIN like TWINE. Any suggestions?

You also will not be bound to solid colors, it will give you a chance to try something new at a relatively low price. If you are worried about unfinished looking edges as a sales rep when you get to the store (after you found what you like best) what would be good to seal the edges with for a more finished look this will depend on the fabric that you chose. Good luck this sounds like a fun project!

My rainbows sandals always make that "clip-clop" noise when I walk and it's really annoying to me and other people around...what can I do to make it quieter?
I bought these heel cushion things but they're only about the size of a quarter, and I dont know where I'm supposed to put them. The brand name is "GeLuscious" and the cushions are called "Divine Drops".

My girlfriend often wears cork wedge sandals. But she also keeps them for driving. I told her I find that quite dangerous (the shoes must be around 4'' high), but she won't listen.

How to clean and disinfect sport sandals?
I have a pair of Keen sport sandals with a rubbery sole and canvas and fake-leather straps. After wearing them around on hot days and sweating in them, they are a bit funky. Washing them in mild soap makes the funk go away for about a day. Anyone have a recommendation for some kind of disinfecting solution I could soak them in that won't discolor the fabrics? (i.e., bleach is out of the question).

I bought an expensive pair of sandals that have everything I could have ever wanted, except arch support. Would it be crazy of me to glue in arch supports? Has anyone ever done this before?

He was always getting into trouble for it too, as in those days, if it didn'y have legs %26amp; a fly it was a dress %26amp; therefore for females Only. Kilts were regarded the same way. I Personally, do not think that robes %26amp; sandles should be part of OUR Culture. If a person wants to wear those things for GENUINE Religious Reasons, DURING Religious Ceremony, then DO IT. At ALL Other times dress like the rest of us. I used to be part of a coven of witches. NOT Wiccans. Rituals were performed with all of of us wearing our Magickal Robes %26amp; barefoot or special slippers. This did NOT mean that we had to wear our robes at all times.! Robes are 'More' Special when only worn at certain times. As everyday wear, that's all they are. ALL Religious meaning is then meaningless. Short Answer...... "NO".

After you wear them in they won't be so loud. Try wearing them around the house until they seem okay to wear in public.

Do you think I can do better than these sandals?
I feel very frustrated. I was at the store and wasted an hour deciding to buy this or not. I think I just bought it because I was scared of losing an opportunity for these sandals. I need someone's opinions? Are these hideous? What do they remind you of?

the only thing i can think is they might be a bit mature for you, but you should pair them with skinny keans if you are tall or a skirt or dress or wear to the beach

Depending on your body type ... you should wear a laced tan tank top, skinny legged jeans, and of course accessories with these shoes.

I Just brought a sandals...on the bottom of the sandals...is leather....there is a printed logo of the manufacture on the leather.........i feel tat is ugly..how do i remove the logo??

it becomes necessary to reorganize your space every now and then to adjust to new additions in your life...
hey, if there is a store in your area that buys gently used items, you might be able to sell them your clothing/shoes that you no longer wear. then, you could buy another shoe rack...

Help me with my new Adidas sandals!?

Anyway, my question is, how on earth do I wear these, they are so uncomfortable!! They were super comfy when I tried them on at the store, and they were comfy when I brought them home and wore them around the house for the first time... for about an hour. Now I can't stand in them without it being excruciatingly painful! The little knobs that make up the surface hurt! Is there something I'm not getting? Will my feet form calluses or something so it won't hurt? Obviously people can wear them without it hurting because the company has been making and selling them for YEARS. wtf??

I find them sooo uncomfortable, but a lot of people swear by them!!! We sell at least 20-30 pairs a day! We carry them all year long, and I never understood why they are so popular!
I am interested in finding out what you paid for them, we sell them for $19.99

To get used to them quicker, try wearing them with thin socks for a while, that will lessen the discomfort.
