For women, there really isn't a limit to when to wear sandals. It's just the style of the sandal which determines suitability for the occasion. It used to be the rule to only wear sandals between Memorial Day and Labor Day; however, this isn't the case any longer.

For men, however, an open shoe like a sandal is considered very informal wear as men's sandals are not dressy at all. Also, men's feet are generally not thought to be "cute".

Men should not wear sandals with a suit, for example, or at work unless their company's "casual day" dress code specifically allows them. Dressy, solemn or formal occasions like weddings and funerals are not appropriate times for men to wear sandals.

Outdoor casual parties, the beach, shopping, casual outings and around the home are ok for men to wear sandals.
Reply:saNDALS= casual

no sanddals= formal

summer time and when not cold
Reply:there is never a "wrong" time to wear sandals unless you are required to dress formally.

a "right", or rather nessecary time to wear sandals is when you're swimming, at the beach, or going out on a very hot day.
