What nice vaction spots (beach, sandals resort) do you NOT need a passport for??

The sandals resorts are:

St. Lucia

Jamaica

Bahamas

Antigua

Do you need a passport for all of these?

Are there any other romantic vaction spots for a younger couple where you do NOT need a passport?

But...the thing is I am asking this question way in advance (long story) I may not be able to go untill 2011.

But that may change.

So any help or personal experience stories will be helpful, thanks!

From the US you need a passport for all of those countries. I don't stay in AI's but I have heard good things about the sandals in Jamaica and st. Lucia. I have been to St. Lucia a few times and it is a beautiful country. Very lush and tropical and not over developed. Jamaica is nice too but very developed and a little rough around the edges. I haven't been 2 the other 2 but I have heard from friends that the Bahamas is somewhat expensive. Some other options you may want to consider are Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, none require a passport. Puerto Rico is gorgeous and very inexpensive. St. Thomas is also nice.
Reply:ahhh well Antigua's not that great ya know.. i wouldn't recommend it!
Reply:You need a passport to fly anywhere that is not a U.S. possession. That means all the Sandals are out. Even for Cruise travel, you will need a passport by summer of 2009 (if the State Dept. doesn't change the deadline yet again).

You can go to Puerto Rico or St. Thomas without a passport.

However, if you have several years, why not just get a passport? They are good for 10 years, so the cost per year is not that bad. Be sure to apply at least 6 months before you go.
Reply:Yes, you need a passport, at least if you're traveling by air. And you'll certainly need one by 2011.

Passport laws are in flux, but if you're a US citizen, you can go to US territories [Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands] without a passport, unless you are flying.

Check the State Department website for current passport info.

Best advice is to just get one, because you'll eventually need it, even if you don't for this trip.
Reply:Hawaii or Florida or Puerto Rico...the laws have changed you pretty much need a passport to leave the country just go get one it isnt that hard!
