jesus would have been such a guy were you to go back to his area. Imagine a long hair hippy looking guy wearing sandals with dirty feet who claimned to be the son of god arriving at your door to pick your daughter u[p. be honest about this%26gt;

Hippie, absolutely, I strive to be one myself. But the moment he claimed to be the son of God, yeah I'd have to admit I'd probably shove those sandals right up his *bleep* and take out a restraining order.

Reply:why not? by forbidding your child to do something just encourages them to do what you forbid them to do. in this day and age i would make sure that she had ways to get in touch with me as well as ways to protect herself. if it did turn out to be jesus then we'd feel like idiots but if it turned out to be some wacko then i would feel good in knowing that i was taking care of my child. i would probably suggest that they all go out on a double date. again, with this day and age you can never be too sure.

I can understand your worry about his dress sense But try %26amp; get to know him then judge him!%26amp; If you are still worried then sit your daughter %26amp; talk about your dissproval of him.

Reply:If in our world today we lived without plumbing, and the only means of transportation was our feet , horses, or mules, than possibly Mom, Dad and Daughter, would not be the most well groomed family either.


Now commonly in our world today there are not a lot of good reasons to me that a young man should come to my home and pick up my daughter dirty.


If I would have had a daughter.... NO she would not have been allowed to date someone dirty , but she would also have been taught a persons appearance doesn't necessarily mean that person isn't intelligent , kind of heart, or of value as a human being.


Added comment to this...My son is a very well groomed professional, his job requires that. He has friends who are the bearded, long haired, young men. Highly educated, in fields where they are making lots of money, but appearance is not needed for their work. Would they come to my house dirty and filthy, not ever, for they respect themselves and me. YES I would let anyone of THESE young men date my daughter.

Reply:Since we are all bikers and hippies, that is what my kids did date! of course they had a cowboy thrown in there every once in a while since we are from Texas. But they all knew who Jesus was, and not one claimed to be the son of God.


But there were several that my girls claimed could walk on water, they were so perfect!


I am so glad they are grown and married!

Reply:No, I would not allow him to date my daughter until he was clean. I would invite him in, listen to him then suggest that he get cleaned up in my shower while I found some clean clothing for him. Then they could go out.

Reply:I'd assume that there must be something good about him if my daughter is dating him. I would probably ask him if he'd like to wash up before he takes my daughter out. There's probably a legitimate reason behind his disheveled appearance anyway.
