Reply:Maybe young white people in your area like to wear sandals because they take better care of their feet, their feet may be cleaner and well pedicured. And maybe they love to show their beautiful toes and feet and they feel more comfortable with their feet out, not enclosed in some tight fitting shoes. I live on the east coast and here I see people of all races wearing sandals, especially in the warmer weather. I don't know where you're from but don't tell me you don't see any black people, especially women wearing sandals. Who are the ones who always go to the Chinese nail shops to get pedicures? A lot of people of color, this includes Hispanic people. Do you think they are all getting pedicures to wear closed shoes, I don't think so. I just love wearing sandals, if I could I would wear them everyday!

Reply:Because sandals are in. Its usually not just white people. It is true that white people seem to be more up to date with fashion than many other races ( At least where I live. And no this is not racism here. I frown upon it and I am also very into fashion myself. I am black btw.), but I have seen many black, asian, hispanic, and middle eastern people that wear them too. Its just a trend. It doesnt have anything to do with race.

Well, to answer your question, while I may not be very young I am white - and when I wear sandals it's mainly because I'd preffer to be barefoot but need to protect the soles of my feet, from broken glass or hot cement. No real thought to it other than that. Oh and NO SOCKS with them (I'm not that old).
Reply:I'm asian. I like sandals. Flipflops, mainly, unless it's freezing out. And obviously if people were gonna go out and jog, they'd put on some different shoes. Not all sandals are uncomfortable.

Reply:i'm black and i love sandals. by sandals, i mean actual shoes, not those stupid rubber shower shoes that are $3. i'm talking about a shoe with a real sole and straps. i have some nine west ones and they are amazing. they are comfy and super cute when my pedicure is fresh. you probably just aren't comfortable walking in sandals and so you assume that everyone is equally clumsy/unskilled in them. i love having my feet out. they are small and cute.
