Seaside Luxory Room or Honeymoon suite at Sandals Negril worth it?

We are going to Sandals Negril in Jamaica for our honeymoon. The basic seaside luxury room is included in the price, but an upgrade to the honeymoon suite is an extra 800. Has anyone stayed there and able to tell if the seaside luxury room is nice enough, or whether the honeymoon suite is worht it? Thanks.

don't know about sandals, but i do know couple in ocho rios,

as it's title says, it is for couples only over the age of 18,

lots of honeymooners go there.

it is the best place i have ever been and always try to get back there
Reply:I don't upgrade my room anymore - the cost does not justify the time spent in the room. HOWEVER - you are going to be on your honeymoon!! You might be spending more time in there! In that case you might want the view. But if you and your new spouse actually plan on spending time on the beach, etc - forgo the upgrade. When you are in the room at night you are sleeping or busy and it's dark. Who cares if you can see the ocean clearly!? Most rooms still provide some sort of ocean view anyway. Save your money!
Reply:If you go to TripAdvisor.com and click on Jamaica, then "Hotels", you'll find comments from past guests, usually including specifics about rooms, etc. Be aware that TripAdvisor removes any posts that include any incidents of experiences with crime, so you won't get a true picture of that, if that is a concern.
