How to stop my suede sandals from being stinky?

I have a pair of suede sandals that have started to smell. I've never had this happen with a pair of shoes before so I'm a bit flabbergasted as to what to do about it. How in the world should I get the smell out? Thanks very much.

Try putting them in a bag, then in the freezer. Someone told me they did that with their kid's baseball shoes that were getting stinky. Something about the freezing kills off any bacteria or fungus growing in them.
Reply:Use febreze. haha. i guess? or just let them sit outside.
Reply:I'm inclined to believe that this pair is done for. You can try to wash them but you'd run the risk of damaging the suede. If you do decide to wash them, try it with warm water (only a little bit of mild soap), and an clean rag. Let them dry in the sun, brushing up the fur periodically.

For future suede shoes, you may want to powder them up prior to wearing them the first few times to absorb any moisture from your feet.
Reply:Try putting some baby powder in your shoes and let it sit there over night. By morning the stench should be gone!

Reply:Did you get them wet? if so, there might be a chance you are not going to get rid of that smell. best thing to try is to just let them sit outside for a day or so.
